Մի հին ավանդություն կա հիմար գեղջուկի մասին, որին ուղարկում են կալվածատիրոջ տուն։ Տերը նրան ոչ միայն ներս է հրավիրում, այլև ապուր է առաջարկում, բայց հենց գեղջուկը ձեռքն է առնում  գդալը, տեսնում է, որ մի փոքրիկ օձ է լողում ափսեի մեջ։ Տիրոջը չվիրավորելու համար համենայն դեպս ուտում է ապուրը, իսկ մի քանի օր անց ծանր հիվանդանում է և ստիպված է լինում նորից գնալ տիրոջ տուն։ 

Տերը նորից նրան ներս է կանչում, ամենափոքր գավաթով դեղ պատրաստում, ապա տալիս գեղջուկին, ու հենց որ գեղջուկն ուզում է կում անել, նորից մի փոքրիկ օձ է տեսնում գավաթի մեջ։ Այս անգամ որոշում է չլռել և բարձրաձայն դժգոհում է, որ հենց օձի պատճառով է հիվանդացել նախորդ անգամ։ Տերը ծիծաղում է ու մատը տնկում առաստաղին, որից մի մեծ աղեղ էր կախված։
